Nashville

Two Views

Added: I respect Guy Benson’s advice to be cautious about widespread blame, but I also don’t think we should ignore that the shooting happened amid calls by activists for action to stop “genocide” against trans people, including the recently enacted Tennessee law banning puberty blockers and transition surgery for minors.

More: Twitter is now blocking tweets showing trans activists’ calls for violence, including gun violence. While understandable, this move obscures how extreme some of these activists are.

This kind of rhetoric is so common it’s not longer shocking (but should be):

I don’t like having to share posts like these but we can’t pretend that these messages aren’t being spread by extremists.

Added: Shaking my head over this captured tweet from Arizona Democratic Gov. Katie Hobbs’ press secretary, posted just hours after the shooting (original removed by Twitter, understandably). Added: Press Secretary Josselyn Berry resigned on Wednesday, two days after the shooting. Why wasn’t she fired, or at least suspended, immediately after her vile post went up?

And via Log Cabin Republicans:

Still more.

Wow. This stereotyping of trans people as violent, is a new low for homocons, who dont seem to really know much about the majority of trans people

Seems like you’re avoiding the issues in order to make an ad hominem attack on the blogger (and gay nonlefties generally). The evidence, and there is much more readily available all over LGBTQ social media, shows that lots of trans activists are way over the top in using rhetoric that often dehumanizes their critics and has frequently, at least on the fringes (antifa and others), called for violence against “TERFS” and “transphobes.”

Not one word in this about the violence incited by the Regressive Fascists like MTG or Don Jr.
who blame trans people for this shooting.

Meanwhile our Theocratic governor and reactionary Republicans are calling for MORE guns.

Really, comparing Don. Jr. and DeSantis with the Nashville shooter as moral equivalents?
I think it’s interesting that Kosh III, like Edward, is simply not engaging with the posts about trans activist extremism (and I absolutely distinguish these extremists from trans people generally). You simply spin off into “what about isms” that are hardly comparable, especially in this case. Yet this is how woke folks “argue” things these days, I suppose.

Where did I mention DeSantis? I mentioned two HIGH profile fascists who immediately demonized ALL trans people without any facts. The references above to obscure individuals and actions in no way is equivalent and certainly is not present here in Nashville.

Other than the fact that the unnamed “theocratic governor” you were referencing was Bill Lee of Tennessee and not Ron DeSantis of Florida, I stand by my comment. You are unwilling to criticize even the most extreme pro-violence messaging by trans activists.

Kevin wants a denunciation of violence? Sure.
    Start with this: https://www.transradicalactivistnetwork.org/transdayof-vengeance
“RAN will be hosting an event in DC, time and location on 4/1 at 11 am in front of SCOTUS. The online event will be hosted on 4/1, time TBA. This protest is about unity, not inciting violence. TRAN does not encourage violence and it is not welcome at this event.”

For me? I denounce the violence of MTG and Tucker and Trump and his cult devotees.
I denounce the violence of shooting a deer/rabbit/etc just for the fun of it.
I denounce violence by ANYone “violence is the last resort of the ignorant”
I denounce the violence inherent in the system.

As I, too, oppose surgery to remove the breast or testicles of minors with gender dysphoria, which they would otherwise be likely to outgrow by their 20s (often as they come to terms with their homosexuality), I suppose Kosh III would label me a “fascist,” too. I guess it’s good he’ll never had to live under actual fascists, as he’d have no word left for it, although the politics of Antifa come rather close.

I agree with the denouncement of violence.

Also, why is it that transgender folk getting gun eager, treated differently then regular redneck white folk?

Hmmm….Kevin Had a hissy fit because I didn’t denounce violence, then I did so and Kevin says nothing. Typical response from the regressive party.
