Maybe in the comfy blue enclaves where Maher (and homocons) live that may be mostly true but not in much of the country. Tennessee’s theocratic GOP legislature and governor keep passing laws which would destroy lgbt+ folks. Same for Florida and most places controlled by the R (regressive) Party. Look at what the Texas GOP just did.
