Woke Elitism

Language morphs over time. New words come into use, other words shift in meaning. Some new words and new usages stick (e.g. “gay” as a term for homosexual), others don’t. That’s how language and culture work.

Liberal elites aren’t alone in morphing the language — all in-groups do it. Conservative Christians use words and attach meanings to other words in ways that are foreign to me; Jews use words and attach meanings that are probably foreign to most conservative Christians. Liberals do it. Conservatives do it, too — anchor baby, culture war, death panel, death tax, deep state, drain the swamp, duh science, fake news, genderbread, hockey mom, homosexual agenda, lamestream media, mask police, media bullying, plandemic, plantation politics, race card, sheeples, snowflake, tree hugger, vaccine police, and so on.

I don’t worry about it. I worry about political dog whistles.

Okay, never mind. This blog post’s photograph isn’t a waste of my time.
