    Ummmmm…..

Just grade him and be done with it. That won’t happen because universities care about prestige among their peers.

    “Sad.”

ath Spa University? As in the design college in Cornall, England? You’re kidding, right?

Can’t Olson at least find some obscure college in the United States to use as a cherry pick?

Harvey Mudd College, for example? Or Young Harris College? Or …?

Yet another example of the right’s propensity to draw sweeping conclusions (“Off Limits in Academia”, as if this kind of nonsense were widespread) from single-case, cherry-picked instances. It just makes the right look foolish, in my opinion.

But, maybe the sky is falling? What do I know?

Two thoughts, first, this is just one side of the story.

Second, the guy seriously said this: “The idea that we might use the information from the research I was going to do in a way that wouldn’t help people is completely wrong.” So he’s either an idiot or a liar.

So yeah. We don’t have the full story, and this guy has willfully shown that he shouldn’t be the one doing this research anyway as he doesn’t grok the potential consequences.
