Why not reasonably regulate, as opposed to an outright, one-size-fits-all ban?

Oh lovely. Guess reading that compelled speech Supreme Court decision is going to be useful (still haven’t gotten to it). The compelled pronouns bit is completely out the window in the United States.

What? Telling a parent *not* to dead-pronoun someone isn’t compelled speech? I cannot agree. I read that transgender youth has worse mental health outcomes after they come out almost no matter what. If a child cannot tell the difference between cruelty (which absolutely exists) and conservatism, that is a function of a mental illness, not the parental behavior. And if the parent cannot tell, that’s it’s own problem, people should understand the laws they’re governed by. It’s easier for liberals to explain the law by prohibiting constitutional conduct, but that’s simply not going to fly.
