How did you get from “No, There’s No Evidence of a Murder Wave Targeting Gay Americans” to “Spike in Anti-Gay Violence Debunked”?
As Olson correctly points out, there is no credible evidence of a murder wave targeting gay Americans. Credible evidence exists, however, that levels of anti-gay violence (violent attacks falling short of murder) have increased in the last two years.
The two — murder waves and spikes in anti-gay violence — are different animals, Stephen, and you do no favors to either Olson or the victims of anti-gay violence when you conflate the two by careless headline-hype.

Give you one guess who’s causing it. I’ll give you a hint: it isn’t the Jews.

“Why Are Murders Of Gay And Bi Men Up A Staggering 400 Percent?” asks the headline atop Michelangelo Signorile’s new HuffPost column, shared at least 13,000 times so far “Hint: This Alarming Surge Has Taken Place Since Donald Trump Became President,” adds HuffPost unsubtly in a tweet promoting the column.
I can’t stand Michelangelo Signorile. But that’s true of a lot of people. Here’s what isn’t: every time I see his name, there something just a little bit deceptive attached to it. He passes himself off as some kind of gay expert (which I suppose he’s qualified to be), but always the road through his pseudo-objectivity ends at “Republicans are evil incarnate” or one of its many versions. I don’t think I’ve ever read anything by him that isn’t really about how horrible Republicans or conservatives are. There’s a place for that sort of perspective, but disguising it among media that’s ostensibly about gay issues is nothing but useless at best, deceptive at worst.
Making up a 400% spike in crime and blaming it on President Trump is right up his alley.
By the way, my feeling is that things are getting just a bit worse.

Meanwhile, he was responsible for normalizing anti-gay hate speech with his hacky book “Q***r in America,” which even then I found inferior to other gay writers with a more conservative bent as soon as I discovered their existence. Gay conservatives did more to make me feel good about being gay than the el-jibbity left and its covertly homophobic agenda ever did.

I have also seen more reports of violence directed at transgender people.

Those myths are propaganda designed to cover up for the fact that trans are instigators of violence against gays and women.

College kids have been throwing around that word for years.

And that’s one reason why America is falling behind the rest of the developed world. Q***r theory should be purged from every corner of academia, as it has been nothing but a calculated attack on the existence of women’s studies and gay and lesbian studies, holding it hostage to an inherently retrograde idea dressed up in “woke” lingo. Jenn-durr is an extreme form of social conservatism; it sets the same blue-is-for-boys-pink-is-for-girls bullshit feminists and gay activists fought for decades in stone.
