New Study Tells Us Virtually Nothing About Same-Sex Households

A major (and exceedingly well-funded) new study from sociologist Mark Regnerus aims to uncover major differences between children raised in same-sex households and those raised in traditional, intact, two-parent biological families. As I argue at TNR, it does no such thing.

Update: Maggie Gallagher’s Reply, and my Rejoinder.

    Got it memorized?

“Exceedingly well-funded”, eh? Psychology and social science research is supposed to proceed in infinitesimally small steps to avoid just these sort of problems (crazy sampling and overbroad conclusions). Yet this is apparently a peer-reviewed journal. Even B-level studies by independent think tanks at least use good methods. So what’s the story here?
