Team Obama Turns Blind Eye to Voter Intimidation

The Southern Poverty Law Center calls the New Black Panther Party "a hate group based on the anti-white, anti-gay, and anti-Semitic views its leaders have repeatedly expressed." So why is the Obama Justice Dept. refusing to prosecute the group for voter intimidation at polling stations? (Link to the Washington Times)

The Washington Post’s ombudsman questions why his paper has been silent on this story, here. Here writes:

Indeed, until Thursday’s story, The Post had written no news stories about the controversy this year. . . . That’s prompted many readers to accuse The Post of a double standard. Royal S. Dellinger of Olney said that if the controversy had involved Bush administration Attorney General John D. Ashcroft, “Lord, there’d have been editorials and stories, and it would go on for months.”

One little problem: it was the Bush Justice Department that decided not to prosecute the NBPP (remember that the Bush administration was still in control between the election and the inauguration. So all the Obama DOJ did was choose not to reopen a case that its predecessor decided not to pursue.

The bat-weilding intimidation took place during the November 2008 election. Blaming the outgoing Bush administration (!) for not prosecuting as it was backing its bags is ridiculous. Try again.
