Israeli citizens can now enter into same-sex marriages in foreign jurisdictions that allow them (such as Canada, Massachusetts and some European countries) and have them recognized by the Israeli state. As Andrew Sullivan points out: "The contrast with the murderous homophobia in the Arab-Muslim Middle East could not be starker."
But don't tell that to San Francisco-based QUIT! (Queers Undermining Israeli Terror).

I would like those Queers from QUIT! to take their protests inside palestinean areas, let\\’s see how they liked being booed, hated, and possibly killed/tortured by the people they love so much.
In fact, I hear that even in America the arabs don\\’t treat QUIT members very well. So even arabs don\\’t like their own supporters just because they happened to be gay.

Read the comment somewhere that the subject of homosexuality is the only one that will (generally) unite the three Abrhamic religions: Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. If they can all agree that we’re vile people worthy of death (or at least marginalization) maybe there’s hope for broader agreements and even peace?

There’s no question that the Israeli state is the freest in the Middle East. It should also prove to be a humiliation for arch-conservative supporters of Israel to note that it’s way ahead of them on gay issues.
