I think of myself as a Premium Member in the Andrew Sullivan Fan Club, but Franklin Foer's shout-out to Andrew in this TNR video ("Andrew Sullivan wrote last week that Jake Tapper is the straight guy who cares about gay rights. . . ") is for this post, where Andrew basically just linked to my post, "In Praise of Jake Tapper."
Andrew deserves all the praise and attention he gets for his terrific writing and thinking about torture, abortion, Dick Cheney, Sarah Palin, and a cornucopia of other deeply unpleasant subjects -- and I hold him almost single-handedly responsible for my own mental health for his pitch perfect taste in videos. But can a brother get some love here?
IGF occupies a very small corner of the blog world, but with Steve Miller, Jon Rauch and even some extra-added Dale Carpenter, I think we're providing color and original thought to the gay rights debate.
Plus, I kind of wanted Jake Tapper to know I'm paying attention . . . .

He may not get his props from TNR, but David Link is a real asset to IGF. Since he came on, I check the site on a daily basis.

David, you’ve got to be kidding about Andrew Sullivan, maybe in the 1990s he was an interesting conservative but today he’s just another radical. He hates evangelicals, he hates waterboarding (which has only been used 3 times), he hates Bush, he hates Dick Cheney and Sarah Pallin. He has ceased to be relevant because there are plenty of liberal writers with the same views.

Sullivan hasn’t written an original blog post since he sold his blog to Time, and now he writes even less on The Atlantic.

Bobby thinks that opposition to torture is radical? Wow.

I LOVE IGF! I also love Andrew Sullivan! But IGF provides at least as much interesting rational thought for me to chew on. I really appreciate having the informed, thoughtful, and ongoing debate this site provides… the perfect antidote to mind-numbing blather that comes from Perez Hilton, et al. Keep it up David and the rest of the IGF bloggers!

I agree with your Jake Tapper post–I link to something of his on my blog just about every other day, and not just gay-related stuff.
Here’s some love for you; I cited Jennifer Vanasco’s excellent column http://www.indegayforum.org/news/show/31801.html (“Obama?s No-Show”) in the following column: http://www.scottspiegel.com/?p=256 (“The Real Pro-Gay Party”).

—Yes, “enhanced interrogations” are necessary to get life-saving information. Cheney spoke about this regarding the 3 terrorists that where waterboarded.
So unless you want thousands of innocent people to die, you will torture the few people that deserve it.

Uh… three people were waterboarded. Hundreds, if not thousands, were tortured. Not that I think torture-supporters mind.

Bobby thinks torture is OK because Cheney says it is. Real independent. Real sick.
